Super Falcons in training
With almost all the invited players now in camp, the senior
women’s team, the Super Falcons will this afternoon hold their first training session at Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, Ogun state as they prepare for their double-header international friendlies against the Senegalese senior women’s team, Prompt News reports.
As at the time of filing this report, four players, including team captain Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade ; playmaker Jennifer Onyii Echegini, defender Rofiat Imuran, and first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie, are expected to arrive camp from Lagos to complete the number of the invited players for the two friendlies ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco next month.
Early birds in camp are super star Asisat Lamina Oshoala, Shukurat Oladipo, and Kafayat Shittu, who arrived Ikenne on Monday while the bulk of the invited players by head coach Justine Madugu arrived camp yesterday.
They are Toni Payne, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Francisca Ordega, Blessing Ilivieda, Anderline Mgbechi, Babajide Omorinsola, Comfort Erhabor, Joy Omewa, Blessing Nkor, and Folashade Ijamilusi. Others are Glory Ogbonna, Christy Ucheibe, Sikiratu Isah, Josephine Mathias
The Super Falcons will take on Lionesses of Teranga on Friday and return to the same Remo Stars Sports Complex for the second match with the Senegalese on Monday, June 8, 2026.
The double-header organised by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is part of the country’s preparations for the biggest continental women’s football tournament holding in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, 2026. Nigeria is the defending champion.
