Super Falcons in training
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have intensified their training ahead of the 14th edition of Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), holding in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, 2026, following the arrival of more players and the duo of Swedish fitness expert Per Karlsson and Igor Krulj, the video/match analyst in Casablanca, Morocco, Prompt News reports.
As at lunchtime on Friday, no fewer than 13 players were in Super Falcons camp with the arrival of Pachuca Ladies FC of Mexico forward Chinwendu Veronica Ihezuo; Inter Milan new girl, Toni Payne and AS Roma forward Omorinsola Babajide.
They joined the early arrivals, including goalkeepers Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie and new invitee Fatima Oloko; defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Ogbonna and Rofiat Imuran.
Also, in camp are midfielders captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Jennifer Echegini, Christy Ucheibe, and Shukurat Oladipo as well as forward Asisat Oshoala.
However, more players are expected to hit camp before dinner time today, while others will join this weekend.
Meanwhile, the two expatriates coaches who were part of the technical crew of Super Falcons to bolster the team in the last edition of WAFCON, which Nigeria won, have already joined the Casablanca camp.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had appointed Swedish fitness coach (Karlsson) and video analyst (Krulj) to the Super Falcons’ technical crew to bolster the squad’s preparations for the last WAFCON) in Morocco.
Karlsson was reinstated as the team’s strength and conditioning expert, having previously served in the same capacity during Thomas Dennerby’s tenure.
Krulj joined the backroom staff to provide tactical and video analysis support to head coach Justin Madugu.
The reinforcements were brought in to fine-tune the team as they prepared to win the 11th WAFCON title in Morocco.
