Ahead Guinea tie: Flamingos, Abuja Boys in 4 goals thriller

Two first half goals converted by Sofia   Imuran ensured that the national U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos ran away with a 2-2 draw with Abuja Academy Boys in their third friendly match on Saturday at the practice pitch of Abuja National Stadium.
   Forward, Imuran  scored a brace as she converted two set pieces in the first half of the highly contested tie. She scored a  well taken free-kick  earlier on and also
stepped up to convert a penalty to make it 2-0 at  the end of first half.
   But Abuja Boys Academy based in Area 3, Garki stormed back in the second half to score two goals of their own to draw the match which was watched by a  handful of spectators.
  Speaking shortly after the match, Flamingos coach  Abimbola  Olowookere commended the resilient of his players, pointing out that the team will be ready for the Guinean clash in a fortnight.
Meanwhile the Flamingos had three days ago at the same venue in Abuja thrashed a visiting women’s football club from Edo state 5- 0 in another friendly match to prepare for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African qualifier tie between Guinea and Nigeria in Conakry early next month.
