Hopeful Man…Flamingos Head Coach, Busari Hakeem Ishola,
Less than 24 hours to the crucial semi-final clash with star-studded Brazil, head coach of Nigeria’s junior women’s national team, the Flamingos, Busari Hakeem Ishola, believes his team will give the South Americans a run for their money when both countries clash in the second semi-final match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup at Pitch 3 of Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salè, Rabat, Morocco tomorrow by 7 pm Nigerian time.
Speaking exclusively to Prompt News on Tuesday, Busari said he recognises the huge threat Brazil poses to Nigeria but he has enough arsenal in his armoury to hurt the opposition, insisting that the Brazilians are beatable.
According to him, although Brazil’s Junior Samba Girls are technically and tactically organised, he has watched them play and has an idea on how best to outsmart them to be able to grind out a win which will help Nigeria qualify for the final of the tournament in Morocco.
Said he: “We are not unaware of the threats this Brazil’s team poses. They are a very good side full of rising stars but the good thing is that we have watched them play and will know how to handle them.
Speaking further, Busari said his players are equal to huge the task ahead, adding that there is no injury concerns as all the players are in good shape and looking forward to going toe to toe with the Brazilians tomorrow.
“I believe we are going to approach the match against Brazil the same way we have handled the matches against other opponents like North Korea, Mexico and Venezuela. We will stick to our game plans which have seen us reach this stage but will be flexible if the need arises. Our sights are fixed on winning the match against Brazil by the grace of God”, Busari assured.
