WAFU 2019: Host, Ivory Coast wallops Togo, Ghana Win too

Host country, Cote d’ Ivoire went goal-crazy in the opening match of the 2nd edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competition in Abidjan yesterday by hammering hapless Republic of Togo 5 nil.

The Ivorien ladies did not allow their opponents a breathing space and pressure them till the end of the match which saw the Togolese ladies loosing the first game woefully.
Also, Ghana defeated hard-fighting Senegal 2-0 in the first match of Group A at the Felix Houphet stadium, Abidjan to show their intent to retain the trophy they won last year in the 1st edition of the WAFU Cup competition.

Meanwhile, attention will shift to Group B today where Nigeria confront Burkina Faso while Mali will tackle Benin Republic.
