EXCLUSIVE: Super Falcons relocate to 5-star Casablanca Hotel

To ensure that Nigeria’s senior women’s football team Super Falcons players and coaching crew are as comfortable as they can to prepare for the country’s defence of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have moved the team’s camp to the luxurious 5-star Radisson Blu Hotel Casablanca City Center, Prompt News reports.

The team had opened camp on Monday at Casablanca Marriott Hotel, another 5-star hotel located also in the city, but the federation has decided to relocate the reigning African champions to Radisson Blu Hotel.

As at the time of filing this report, 10 players are in camp in Casablanca while many are expected in the Falcons’ new nest from tomorrow morning.

Those in camp in Casablanca are captain Rasheedat Ajibade, reliable goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and former CAF African Footballer of the Year  Asisat Oshoala.

Others are the only home-based invitee and goalkeeper Fatima Oloko; defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Ogbonna, Christy Ucheibe, Shukurat Oladipo and, Rofiat Imuran, as well as midfielder Jennifer Echegini.

Nigeria will start her defence of WAFCON title with first Group C opponents Malawi on July 28 before confronting Zambia on Saturday, August 1, and lastly, Egypt on Wednesday, 5th August 5, 2026, all in Rabat.

All four semi-finalists at the finals in Morocco will earn automatic slots at next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Brazil, with the fifth-placed team, to be decided via a playoff game, heading to an intercontinental playoff tournament early next year.
