EXCLUSIVE: Top officials, Coach Waldrum leave Super Falcons in Casablanca, return to Nigeria, USA

Back to Base…Nigeria’s Head Coach Randy Waldrum returns toPanthers University of Pittsburgh, USA, his original duty post. He left Super Falcons in Casablanca in the wee hours of Saturday.

Less than 24 hours after the 1-0 loss to Zambia in the 3rd- place match of 2022 WAFCON, the Super Falcons hotel camp in Casablanca has become a ghost town following the departure on Saturday morning of top officials of the dethroned African Champions just as the rest of the team members are left in Morocco.

Prompt News exclusively gathered that both the Nigerian members of the delegation and the Super Falcons Head Coach Randy Waldrum and his American Assistant  Coach, Ms. Lauren as well as the United States-born players left for home in the early hours of Saturday through the Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca.
The players who have left the camp are forward Ifeoma Onumonu, defender Michelle Alozie and the Payne sisters-Toni and Nicole as well as none playing goalkeeper Yewande Balogun.

It was also gathered that Super Falcons leader of delegation, Ms. Aisha Falode and some bigwigs of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and “stakeholders” who watched the lost match yesterday at Complexe  Mohamed V in Casablanca have since left for Nigeria aboard Royal Air Maroc flight headed for Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the bulk of Super Falcons players and officials who reside in Nigeria are still in the
hotel camp in Casablanca awaiting their departure date of Sunday, July 24, 2022.
No official statement has been issued by NFF on the reason for the piece-meal departure of the Nigerian delegation to Morocco on official engagement.
