Falconets pose for photograph before walloping their Congolese opponents in Brazzaville on Sundsy
Nigeria’s U-20 women’s football team, Falconets have continued their impressive performance in the race for a ticket to the FIFA Women’s World Cup ‘Costa Rica 2022’ as they walloped their hosts, Congolese women’s junior football team 4-0 in the first leg of the African qualifiers third round tie in Brazzaville on Sunday.
The Two-time FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Silver medallists Nigeria defeated the hapless Congo with goals by Mercy Idoko (38′), Flourish Sebastine (47′), Esther Onyenezide (50′ Pen.) and Deborah Ajibola (55′) condemned Congo.
The result has put the Coach Christopher Musa Danjuma-tutored team in an advantage position ahead of the return leg match billed for December 18 at the refurbished Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan, Lagos

peril of crashing out of Costa Rica 2022 race as they are in a near-hopeless situation in the return leg slated for Lagos.

Elsewhere, West African neighbours Senegal thumped Guinea 2-0 in the first leg match played over the weekend in Dakar while Ethiopia playing away hammered Botswana 3-1in the first leg to have a huge advantage to finish off their opponents in Addis Ababa in a fortnight.
Also, Tanzania made home-court advantage to count
as they fought hard to beat Burundi 3-2 in the first leg tie just as Uganda shocked South Africa 1-0 in Kampala.
Ghana Black Princesses held their hosts Zambia to a goalless draw; Morocco will welcome The Gambia in Rabat on Monday while Cameroon had earlier booked the 4th round place following the withdrawal of their opponents Gabon.
