Ready to Roar…Rivers Angels Head Coach Edwin Okon marshalling instructions to his players during a league match. He needs to grind out a win against Togolese club on Monday.

The stage is set for the epic clash between Nigeria’s  Champions, Rivers Angels and Togolese club, Amis du Monde on Monday in the second semi final match of the on-going West African Football Union WAFU-B tournament at Stade Champroux in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Also, Burkina Faso’s sole representatives
USFA which finished first in Group A will tackle hard-fighting Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana in the first  semi final match of the day.
But the match of interest for Nigerians on  Monday will be the second semi final involving Group B winner, Rivers Angels handled by former Super Falcons coach, Edwin Okon, who have guided his team to two straight victories in the WAFU-B Tourney in Abidjan.
The Pride of Rivers as the club is known in Nigeria beat the sturbon Hasaacas Ladies 2-0 in the first match of Group B  and humiliated AS Police of Niamey, Niger 5-0 in the second game to notch up the six points available.
Nigerians are therefore expecting Rivers Angels to dispatch the Togolese Champions on Monday in the second semi final match to pick one of the two tickets to represent WAFU Zone B in the maiden Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League  slated for Egypt later in the year.

Head Coach, Okon has enough experience both as a national team gaffer and one of the respected women’s football coaches in Nigeria hence he will dig deep in his tactical and technical skills to grind out victory over Amis du Monde.

The winners of the two semi-final games will qualify for the first CAF WCL to be hosted by Egypt later this year just as the  ASFAR of Morocco and host clubside, Wadi Degla FC have already qualified for the tournament.
