2020 FIFA U-20 African qualifier: Morocco mauls Egypt 5-3, Malawi host Zimbabwe today

Egypt under 20 women’s football team yesterday fell to the superior fire power of Morocco’s U-20 women’s soccer team in the first leg of the preliminary qualifiers of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final billed for Costa Rica and Panama later this year just as Malawi will this evening host Zimbabwe in Blantyre .
With this result, Morocco which held powerhouse of African women’s football, Nigeria to 1-1 in Rabat in the 2018 edition is in pole position to qualify for the next round of the competition as the return leg on January 30 in Rabat will be a mere formality.
The qualifying matches continue today across Africa with no fewer than eight games on the card with Malawi versus Zimbabwe tie seen as the star match although there are other contentious games that will throw up surprises at the end of today.
