The Head Coach of the national senior women’s football team, Super Falcons, Thomas Dennerby has submitted the list of the players he hopes to use to prosecute the two-legged CAF Olympics qualifier matches between Algeria and Nigeria.

With the first leg scheduled for the Blida, a city near Algiers, the capital of Algeria on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 and the return leg billed for Agege stadium in Lagos on Tueday, September 3, Dennerby is required to submit his players list before August 20.

Sources close to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Glass House Headquarters in Abuja disclosed that no fewer than 18 players are listed in the travelling party even as foreign-based Falcons are also included in the team.

Meanwhile, Dennerby today moved his team’s training from the artificial turf of FIFA Goal Project Pitch at Package B, Abuja National Stadium to the Practice Pitch of the Main bowl of the stadium which has natural grass, the same with the Blida venue of the Algeria versus Nigeria first leg tie.

Dennerby commended the players for the fighting spirit but revealed that the hard work is ahead of the players as the team will soon settle down to the real training regime which  is expected to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The Swedish tactician is currently working with 27 players while some of the overseas-based players are been expected to hit camp before the delegation fly out of Abuja for Algiers.

Goalkeepers: Christy Ohiaeriaku (Delta Queens); Tochukwu Oluehi (Rivers Angels) and Onyinyechi Okeke (Edo Queens)

Defenders: Glory Ogbonna (Ibom Angels); Abidemi Ibe (Bayelsa Queens); Ugochi Emenayo (Nasarawa Amazons); Margaret Etim (Rivers Angels); Blessing Edoho (Ibom Queens) and Maureen Okpala (Confluence Queens)

Midfielders: Osarenoma Igbinovia (Bayelsa Queens); Amarachi Okoronkwo (Nasarawa Amazons); Cecilia Nku (Rivers Angels); Regina Otu (Pelican Stars) and Celine Ottah (Bayelsa Queens)

 Forward: Adejoke Ejalonibu (Nasarawa Amazons); Rafiat Sule (Rivers Angels);   Nneka Julius (Edo Queens); Tessy Biahwo (Bayelsa Queens); Lola Phillip (Nasarawa Amazons); Rofiat Imuran (Sunshine Queens); Joy Jerry (Bayelsa Queens) and Mary-Magdalene Anjor ( Bayelsa Queens).
