JUST IN: 2026 President Federation Cup kicks off March 22 nationwide

In order to beat the date of submission of the names of Nigeria’s representatives to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of the 2026/2027 continental club competitions, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has fixed Sunday, March 22 as the kick-off date for the 2026 President Federation Cup, Prompt News reports.
In a letter sent to all the secretaries of 36 State Football Associations (State FAs) and Federal Capital Territory (FCT FA) and signed by the NFF Director of Competitions, Ms. Ruth David on Monday, the 36 states and FCT are to conclude the State President Federation Cup finals on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, 2026, respectively.
Subsequently, they are expected to submit the list of two teams (a male and female team) to represent their respective states in the national play-off. The list must reach the NFF secretariat in Abuja between Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, 2026.
According to the NFF,  failure by registered clubs to honour their game at the state level will attract a fine of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) only while defaulters at the national  play-off will pay the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) only.
