**Applaud his unprecedented rewards to team

Sweating in vein for Nigeria?…..Former Super Falcons Captain Ambassador Kikelomo Ajayi and mates want President Bola Tinubu to reward thos who won first to nine WAFCON title.
Four-time CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) winner and former captain of Nigeria’s senior women’s football team Super Falcons, Kikelomo Florence Ajayi has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for honouring the victorious Super Falcons players who won the 10th WAFCON title last Saturday in Morocco with National Awards and generous financial rewards, Prompt News reports.
This is even as she has praised corporate Nigerians for showering the team with huge financial largesse for their great feat of winning the WAFCON trophy for the 10th time, stressing that the players deserve all they goodies coming their way for continuing in the tradition already set by their senior sisters 27 years ago.
Recall Nigeria’s Super Falcons stunned football pundits and the continent by coming from two goals down to defeat host nation Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses 3-2 in the final held in Rabat on Saturday, clinching their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
In recognition of this remarkable achievement, President Tinubu announced a reward package that includes $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for each member of the technical and backroom staff, a three-bedroom apartment in the Renewed Hope Housing Estate, Abuja, and the conferment of national honours – Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all players and staff.
But ex-Super Falcons captain and her teammates insist that the largesse should be extended to retired players, especially those who won trophies for Nigeria in their active days.
In a press statement exclusively made available to Prompt News from her base in Maryland, United States of America (USA), Ajayi, and other former Nigerian internationals living abroad and in the country are pleading to President Tinubu to be magnanimous towards them too.
The statement read: “We, the proud members of the United Ex-Super Falcons– champions of the 1st to 9th WAFCON titles—joyfully celebrate and congratulate our resilient and record-breaking sisters, the current Super Falcons, on clinching the 10th historic WAFCON victory.
This milestone is not just a win for the team, but a victory for every Nigerian, past, present, and future—
