Sundowns announce FIFA Club World Cup 26-man squad, leave for USA

Ahead of the next Saturday’s kick-off of the the expanded FIFA Club World Cup finals in the United States of America (USA), one of the four African representatives,

Mamelodi Sundowns have released its 26-man squad for the biggest global club football competition, holding from Saturday, June 14 to Sunday, July 13, 2025, in 11 American states.

Prompt News reports that Masandawana, as the South African champions are called, will kick off their tournament campaign with an intriguing opening fixture against Ulsan of Japan on Tuesday, June 17 with this crucial match taking place at the Inter&Co. Stadium in Orlando, Florida, setting the tone for their performance in the group.

Following this, they will face their biggest test in the group stage, going head-to-head with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 21st, at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.

Their final group stage encounter will see them take on Fluminense on Wednesday, June 25th, at the iconic Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, a match that could prove decisive for their progression in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Sundowns delegation comprising 26 registered players, coaching crew led by head coach Miguel Cardoso, backroom staff, and administrative personnel, is expected to depart South Africa on Sunday for USA.

The Portuguese who is gearing up for a landmark moment as his team prepares to compete at the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup has selected 26 players that will do battle in America. Below is the list.
