CAF, Morocco LOC announce Match Venues for 2024 WAFCON

The Confederation of African (CAF) together with hosts, Morocco Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have today announced the match venues that will host TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Morocco 2024, holding from July 5  to 26, 2025.
According to a CAF media release, no fewer than six venues will be used for the biggest women’s football competition in the continent, the first time more than three venues are used for the event which started in Nigeria in 1998 when it was known as Africa Women Championship (AWC).
The venues approved by CAF and Morocco LOC are:
Olympic Stadium (Rabat)
Larbi Zaouli Stadium (Casablanca)
Père Jégo Stadium (Casablanca)
El Bachir Stadium (Mohammédia)
Honor Stadium (Oujda).
Meanwhile,CAF and Morocco LOC  are yet to assign any match venue to the 12 participating teams as none of the qualified countries can plan for their team’s pre-tournament stay in Morocco before moving into the competition’s hotels ahead of the July 5, 2025 kick off date. Also CAF and Morocco LOC are yet to release the match fixtures.
Defending champions South Africa; host nation Morocco and nine-time African people, Nigeria are among the 12 countries that qualified to take part in the upcoming WAFCON. Others are Senegal, Zambia, Botswana, Algeria, Tunisia, DR Congo,  Ghana, Mali and Tanzania.

GROUP A: Morocco, Zambia, Senegal, DR Congo
GROUP B: Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Botswana
GROUP C: South Africa, Ghana, Mali, Tanzania.
