Super Falcons invitee, Ginika, gets 3rd assist as CSST beat FUS Rabat 2-1

Super Falcons invitee, Ginika Ikeh has continued to make instant impacts in the Morocco Women’s Championship Division 1 as she provided an assist in her team, Club Solidarite Sportif (CSST) Temara’s 2-1 victory over FUS Rabat at the weekend  in the keenly contested match.

Speaking exclusively to Prompt News from her base, Ikeh who joined the club at the beginning of 2024 said CSST Temara fought very hard to come from behind to win the encounter after they conceded a goal in the 53 minute but FUS club’s ‘ celebration lasted for merely one minute before the Nigerian midfielder assisted her team mate to equalize the match in 54 minute.
According to Ikeh who had stints with Nigeria’s U-17 (Flamingos) and U-20 team (Falconets) in 2017 and 2020, CSST Temara pushed hard to score the second goal in the 71 minute to make it a second win in a row. The result also catapulted CSST to the 5th place in the 14-team Moroccan women’s league.
It was the midfielder’s third assists for CSST Temara since she joined the club in the New Year just as she promised to do even better in the next fixtures of the club.
Said she: “I am very glad we are gradually founding consistency in the league. I am  also praying and hoping that we continue to win our remaining matches in the league and who knows we win the league. The fight is on”.
Ikeh who played for Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC,  a Ghanaian professional women’s football club based in Techiman in the Bono East Region of Ghana at the 2023 CAF Women’s Championship League in Cote d’ Ivoire later joined Berry Ladies FC in Accra from where she left for Morocco. She also.played for Bayelsa Queens of Yanegoa before transferring to Sunshine Queens FC.
