Super Falcons first-ever foreign coach, Thomas Dennerby and his Indian senior women’s football team has again trounced Kyrgyz Republic 4-0 in the second match of Group G of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Olympic Qualifier series.
India had thrashed Kyrgyz Republic 5-0 in the first match of the group on Tuesday, April 5, 2023 at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek
and walloped the country again 4-0 on Friday even when a draw or a narrow loss will be enough to take India to the second round of the qualifier.
The match was played with 10 players for 70 minutes after an Indian player was shown the red card after the first goal was scored but the team still scored another three goals on the way to win the match.
The victory makes the Dennerby-coached Indian football team overwhelming favourites to progress to go far in the AFC Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers, which will be played in October.

All the groups are with four teams in each group except Group G which has three countries after Turkmenistan withdrawl late with AFC unable to replace the country before the qualifiers started.
Meanwhile, Dennerby’s coaching contract with India Football Association (IFA) will expire at the end of this month, although he has an option to extend.
But Prompt News has exclusively gathered that the Sweden-born football tactician is still undecided on his next line of action as he wants to take his deserved vacation in the Sweden’s capital, Stockholm.
“I am taking my deserved vacation to be with my wife and other family members I have not been able to see for a long time now. It has been a hectic period working both with the India U-17 women’s football team and the senior side. Now, I am back in Stockholm to enjoy quality time with my family. My contract has expired now. Let’s see what happens next”, Dennerby who won Nigeria’s last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in 2018 and took Nigeria to the 2nd round of 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France told our reporter from his base in Sweden on Saturday.
