WAFCON Q/Final: Much at stake as  Senegal, Morocco battle for Women’s  World Cup tickets against Zambia, Botswana today

Teranga Lionesses of Senegal targets 1st FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification in Morocco

After two days of rest, the quarter finals of the ongoing 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will resume today with all the eight quarter-finalists  playing to secure the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tickets.

Aside picking the Women’s World Cup tickets by the winners of the four quarter final matches, the lucky
semi finalists will have a chance to still remain in the hunt for the 2022 WAFCON trophy.
As earlier reported by Prompt News,  Day 1 of the quarterfinals today  (Wednesday) will see the Copper Queens of Zambia face Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses in the first game billed for Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca, while host Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses will slug it out with Mares of Botswana at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat late on.

On the March Again… After representing Africa in the last Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Zambia Copper Queens will want to qualify for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

But all eyes will be on Day 2 of the quarter finals on Thursday, when the  Indomitable Lionesses of  Cameroon will trade tackles with eternal rivals, Nigeria in the first game of the evening at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, while South Africa lock horns with Tunisia in the second game slated for Stade Moulay Hassan, Rabat.

• Wed. 13/07. Zambia vs Senegal 18:00 (Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca)
• Wed. 13/07. Morocco vs Botswana 21:00 (Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat)
• Thur. 14/07. Cameroon vs Nigeria 18:00 (Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca)
• Thur. 14/07. South Africa vs Tunisia 21:00 (Stade Moulay Hassan, Rabat).
