Nigeria has been drawn in Group D as the West African nation have been paired with Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in the group stage of the 2022 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed for Cameroon next January.
Aside facing serial winners Egypt, three-time winner of the African title Nigeria, have avoided early clash with West African heavyweights, Senegal, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire and Mali.
The draws held in Yaounde, Cameroon saw the 24 qualified teams put into six Groups with host country, Cameroon heading Group A which also has Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Cape Verde.
Defending champions Algeria heads Group E where they will battle it out with Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Cote D’Ivoire.
