Friendly matches: Gernot Rohr caps half dozen Eagles in Austria

In his desire to produce a strong team that will be competitive in international competitions, Super Eagles Head Coach Gernort Rohr has used the two recent international friendly matches in Austria against  Algeria and Tunisia to cap no fewer than six more new players thanks to his rebuilding process.

While Rohr gave four players their head start in the first match against Algeria last Friday in the 1-0 loss, he introduced two more new players in the 1-1 draw tie against Tunisia on Tuesday namely– Cyril Dessers and Chidera Ejuke.

Super Eagles team versus Tunisia in Austria last Tuesday. Some of the New Boys like defender Kevin Akpoguma started the match.

This meant Nigeria has handed caps to a total of six players in these two friendly games, after Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, Kevin Akpoguma and Samson Tijani took theirs against Algeria on Friday.

The Franco-German tactician has tested several local and foreign-basedNigerian players in his Super Eagles squad many of whom are now established players in the team while some others have fallen by the way side. He is still rebuilding.
