After leading Nigeria’s senior men’s football team, Super Eagles to two victories on the bounce in the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 qualifying campaign, Head Coach Gernot Rohr believes that the team can achieve more successes if the players remain focused.
Speaking exclusively on Tuesday at the premises of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretariat, Abuja when he visited the leadership, Rohr said that the recent victories of the Super Eagles shows that hard work pays.
According to the Franco-German tactician who met briefly with the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi behind closed doors, “the Super Eagles is a project and I am doing all I can to ensure that the team will continue in the part of success “.
Rohr who was mobbed by elated NFF staffers and visitors who wanted to take photographs with him while congratulating him for his team’s recent wins over the Squirrels of Benin Republic and the Crocodiles of Lesotho argued that the Super Eagles will remain humble but focused on the task ahead.
The former Burkina Faso and Gabon coach however said the players and everybody involved in the team including the NFF should be commended for the results so far.
He therefore called for the cooperation of everyone involved to ensure that the team will even achieve more victories in the days ahead.
