A penalty goal by star player, Emilie Njoya barely four minutes to the end of the tensed match ensured that Cameroon eliminated Cote d’ Ivoire on 2-1 goal aggregate to qualify for the last stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics African qualifiers where Zambia is waiting.
Attacker Meyong Menene had shot Cameroon into the lead with a well taken close range shot in the 28th minute to draw a lot of cheers from the home crowd at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Younde and the host was to hold the lead till the end of the first half.

Cameroon will host Zambia in the first leg of the final round in January 2020 with the return leg in Zambia later just as the winner of the two legs will qualify for the Olympics while the loser will face Chile in a Play=off.
