Nigeria, Cameroon pre-tourney friendly ends in stalemate in Ismailia

Apparently to test the preparedness of their players ahead of the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will kick off in Egypt this weekend, Nigeria and Cameroon Olympics teams wrapped their preparations with a barren draw yesterday in Ismailia.
Cameroon has been camping in Ismailia for a week, and they fine-tuned their preparations with a three-half friendly against Nigeria as each half lasted for 30 minutes.
Rigobert Song charges missed a number of chances along the 90 minutes, while The Olympic Eagles led by Imama Ampakabo had their share of spoils via Bright Enobakhare and Orji Okonkwo.
Despite ending goalless but the game was not short of entertainment, as both Coaches Song and Amapakabo expressed their satisfaction with their respective sides’ performance.
Both sides left for Cairo right after the game getting ready for their opening games. Cameroon who are having their debut U-23 AFCON are placed in Group A with hosts Egypt, Mali and Ghana, and will kick off their campaign against the Black Meteors of Ghana on Friday night.
Title holders Nigeria will kick off their group B campaign against Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday, with Zambia and South Africa completing the pool.
