With just eight days to go until the start of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019, the official squad lists of the 24 participating teams including Nigeria and host, Brazil have been revealed.
In total, 504 players will be participating in the tournament’s 18th edition.
Throughout its history, the FIFA U-17 World Cup has given football’s most promising young players their first exposure on the world stage. Among the many stars of the beautiful game to have graced this tournament are Neymar, Ronaldinho, Toni Kroos, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Carlos Tevez.
“When you’ve been fortunate enough to play at a U-17 World Cup, people in the football world start to look at you differently,” Julio Cesar told FIFA.com. “It’s almost as if you’re a player who stands out from the crowd.”
The former Brazil goalkeeper took part in the 1995 edition in Ecuador before going on to enjoy a long professional career that included appearances at three FIFA World Cups.
