Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie is among the early birds as the team’s Abuja camp has come alive today with the arrival of many of the home- based professional players invited to camp by the Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifier match between Nigeria and Cote d Ivoire.
Among the early birds at the Super Falcons Chida Hotel, Abuja camp are Ibom Angels FC defender, Blessing Edoho and four Nasarawa Amazon players, Mariam Ibrahim Ugochi Emenayo, Aluko Abdulkareem and Lola Phillios as well as Opeyemi Sunday and Goodness Onyebuchi of Sunshine Queens.
Others who also hit Abuja camp today are Rivers Angels’ Mary Ologbosere, Margaret Etim and Cecilia Nku just as players from Edo, Bayelsa and Delta Queens fc are either on their way or will arrive tomorrow.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had last Thursday released the list of the 30 home- based players selected by Dennerby to fight for shirts to make the final list of Super Falcons team that will face Cote d Ivoire in the two legged African qualifiers third round ties.
No fewer than seven oversea-based professional players led by Barcelona Feminine star, Asisat Oshoala will join the camp next week.
Meanwhile, the conclusion of Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) last Wednesday has ensured that the invited players can now report early to camp in Abuja even as the team is expected to start training tomorrow at FIFA Goal Project pitch at Parkage B, Abuja National Stadium.
