Three countries have qualified for the next round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics CAF women’s football competition.

They are Kenya, DR Congo and Zambia after they have concluded their second round  matches.
Kenya’s senior women’s football team, Harambe Starlets today thrashed Malawi 3-0 in Nairobi to qualify on 5-3 goals aggregate. Malawi last week beat Kenya 3-2 DR Blantyre.
Goals from Cynthia Shilwatso in 18′ and Mwanahalima in “Dogo” Adam in 77′ and 87′ were enough to earn Kenya a victory.
Kenya is through to the third round of the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers where they’ll meet the winner of the Gabon/Ghana tie just as the Chawinga Sisters (with 6 goals apiece in the qualifiers) were well contained in the return leg by the overly young, recently-assembled Kenyan side.
Also, Zambia have qualified for the next round as their opponents Zimbabwe failed to honour their return leg. Zambia qualified on 5-0 goals aggregate from the first leg.
Earlier, Democratic Republic of Congo had qualified without kicking a ball following the withdrawal of Equatorial Guinea.
D R Congo will await the winner of the match between Cameroon and Ethiopia. Both played out 1-1 draw last week in Addis Ababa.
All the remaining matches including Nigeria versus Algeria tie will be concluded on or before Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
