Candidates emerge for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019, USA dominates list

As earlier announced by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), candidates have emerged for the 2019 The Best FIFA Football Awards billed for Milan on Monday, September 23, 2019.

Again, as reported here yesterday, the out-going United States of America (USA), Head Coach, Jill Ellis who led her team to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup back to back has been deservedly nominated for the prestigious Award in the Best Coach category..

Others are France 2019 performing coaches like Sarina Wiegman who led Netherlands to claim Silver Medal after losing to USA in the final and Swedish Coach Peter Gerhardsson who helped Sweden to finish third in France.

Phillip (Phil) Neville of England and Milena Bertolini of Italy whose teams did well in France also made the elite list.

Also in the list are Futoshi Ikeda (Japan U20), Antonia Is (Spain U17), Joe Montemurro (Arsenal), Reynald Pedros (Lyon) and Paul Riley (North Carolina Courages.

Meanwhile, there is no single African player in the list of 12 nominees for The Best Woman Player Award category already released as four USA, two England and two France players dominated the list.

The 2019 FIFA Women’s Player nominees are Lucy Bronze –England/Lyon, Julie Ertz-USA/Chicago Red Bulls, Caroline Graham Hansen-Norway/Barcelona, Ada Hegerberg- Lyon, Amandine Henry- France/Lyon and Samantha Kerr- Australia/ Perth Glory

Other are Rose Lavelle=USA/ Washinton Spirit, Vivianne Miedema-Netherlands/Arsenal,  Alex Morgan-USA/ Orlando Pride, Megan Rapinoe- USA/ Orlando Pride, Wendie Renard- France/Lyon and Ellen White- England and Manchester City.
