World football governing body, FIFA has released the match statistics of the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup final in France with referees dishing out a total of 124 Yellow Cards.
According to the statistics released by FIFA Referees body, the referees were generous with card that no fewer than four players including Nigerian defender, Ngozi Ebere received Red Cards in the course of the tournament.
Statistics also showed that 2.8 average goals were scored in the 52 matches played by the 24 teams that participated in the competition.
Also, three players finished the tournament on 6 goals apiece. They are the Golden Ball Winner- Megan Rapinoe, USA; Alex Morgan –USA and Ellen White, England.
