Asisat Lamina Oshoala with her FIFA Woman of the Match Award after Nigeria’s 2-0 win against South Korea in Grenoble

Two African players, Asisat Oshoala and Ajara Nchout have been named as one of the scorers of the best goal of the tournament in France

Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala and Cameroon winger Ajara Nchout have been named among nominees for the best goal at the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The pair’s goals were among a shortlist of 10 picked by the world football governing body, FIFA on Monday.

Oshoala, who has won the African Women’s Player of the Year thrice, will crave the Goal of the Tournament accolade as a consolation for her Nigeria’s Round of 16 exit after the Super Falcons were thrashed 3-0 by Germany in Grenoble.

Oshoala’s brilliant goal and Super Falcons second goal on the day in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over South Korea in Grenoble may just win her the award. She rounded the Korean goalkeeper before scoring from very tight angle.
