Lobi Stars Football Club this evening made a bold statement of its intention to lift the Super Six trophy after the Makurdi-based team humiliated FC Ifeanyiuba 3-1 in the opening match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Play-off at Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Goals by Samada Kidiri in the 2nd , and 60th minutes as well as another in the 63rd minute by Sikiru Alimi gave Lobi all three points just as the 40th minute equalizer by FC Ifeanyiuba’s Tega Ebetomame could not cpont for anything at the end of the match.
With this result, Lobi Stars lead the log and is closely followed by Enyimba International of Aba after the former CAF Champions League winners defeated Oriental rivals, Enugu Rangers 1-0 in the first match of the day at the same venue.
In the second match, Kano Pillars and Akwa United ended the thrilling encounter 2-2 as all the teams will look forward to the next games to either consolidate or change their tactics to improve their game.
