The technical crew of the Super Falcons has decided to give the players a moment of respite today after a hectic week and a test-match yesterday against a Hungarian club, Haladas-Vicktoria just as they will on Sunday take on a Slovakian club.
SportsrevelationOnline can exclusively report today that the technical crew led by Thomas Dennerby has given the players time- off today to recover from the yesterday’s test-match and morning training fatigue. They will as usual return to the class room tonight to review the friendly match and have team talk.
But the team will return to training tomorrow to continue the build-up towards another test-match on Sunday, June 2, against a club from Slovenia. This will be the last of the preparatory matches for the Super Falcons before they depart Avita Resort camp in Austria for France on June 4 ahead of the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup final which kicks off on June 7.
Super Falcons yesterday hammered Haladas believed to have paraded about 7 Hungarian senior national women’s team in their ranks 5-1 even as the club scored first before Dennerby’s girls bounced back to thrash their opponents on the day. China-based winger, Chinwendu Ihezuo restored parity in the 32nd minute before her fellow China import; Francisca Ordega scored the second goal in the 52nd minute.
Then poster girl Asisat Oshoala of FC Barcelona Ladies came with a brace in the 70th minute and 72nd minute and Sweden-based Ogonna Chukwudi later put the icing on the cake with an 84th minute goal she received a good pass from Anam Imo to ensure that Falcons won 5-1 at full time.
