Ahead France 2019: Capt. Oparanozie, Uchedu hit Falcons Austria camp Tuesday

Barring any flight delays, a good number of foreign-based Super Falcons players will hit the team’s Austria camp even as eight domestic league players, the coaching crew and backroom staff left Abuja Monday night aboard Air France to Paris for a two week intensive training base to enable the Head Coach Thomas Dennerby to pick the final 23 players that will represent Nigeria in this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The Nigerian contingent will settle down at the Avita Resort in the Austrian city of Bad Tatzmannsdorf, the same facilities the Super Eagles used as training camp before the last FIFA World Cup in Russia. Falcons will also be there to perfect their tactics and strategies at the before leaving for France on June 4 for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals holding from June 7 to July 7, 2019.

SportsrevelationOnline exclusively gathered today from reliable sources close to the players that Falcons captain, Desire Ugochi Oparanozie; China-based forward, Chinwedu Veronica Ihezue and Sporting Clube de Braga winger,Chinaza Uchendu as well as Sweden-based trio of Halimat Ayinde, Ngozi Sonia Okobi-Oke and  Osinachi Marvis Ohale will all arrive Austria Tuesday.

In fact, Oparanozie who left from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos earlier on Monday is expected to be in camp ahead of the contingent that departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in the evening.

Also billed to arrive the Austria camp Tuesday is Falcons First Assistant Coach, Jorgen Petersson who is well respected by the entire team because of his high work rate and friendly disposition like his fellow Swede and Dennerby. Both men in conjunction with the three Nigerian assistant coaches- Maureen Madu, Justin Madugu and Aliyu Makwalla worked harmoniously at the last Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana to deliver the coveted trophy to Nigeria.
