The Rihab Hotel Rabat camp of Nigeria’s senior women’s football team Super Falcons is agog again after players and officials received the cheering news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has graciously approved the full payment of the delayed allowances and match bonuses of the team ahead of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024 final against host Morocco at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat tomorrow.
The news of Tinubu’s approval for the full payment of allowances and match bonuses of the Super Falcons was broken in Nigeria yesterday by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Mallam Shehu Dikko, who made the announcement while speaking with reporters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
He also confirmed that all entitlements, up to and including the final on Saturday, July 26, had been disbursed for immediate payment to players, coaches, and officials.

But, in a swift reaction, President Tinubu directed the NSC to ensure that the Super Falcons are paid full allowances before the final match, a directive Dikko confirmed to sports reporters in Abuja yesterday.
He confirmed that all entitlements, up to and including , had been disbursed for immediate payment to players, coaches, and officials. He described the gesture as “policy in motion” and a demonstration of a renewed commitment to Nigerian athletes under Tinubu’s leadership.
He assured that this would now be the standard practice going forward, timely payments without drama or delays.
