EXCLUSIVE: Nigerians in Morocco promise to storm stadium for semi-final tie vs South Africa if…..

With Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) or its diaspora wings unable to show their presence at the ongoing CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Nigerians living in the country, especially those residing in Casablanca, have vowed to storm the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, venue of Nigeria and South Africa’s first semi-finals clash to cheer the Super Falcons to victory when both countries meet on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Prompt News reports.

Super Falcons have not missed much of the support that comes from the stands since their 3-0 defeat of Tunisia in the first match of Group B and subsequent matches, although only a small number who could afford to buy their own tickets were attending the four earlier matches played by Nigeria.

However, with the crucial semi-finals encounter against WAFCON defending champions, South Africa just two days away, top officials of Nigeria community in Morocco have said with one voice that they will mobilise a large number of supporters  to cheer the Super Falcons to beat the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.

Christopher Nwabuzor, a licensed Football Player Intermediary who also runs a beauty shop in Medina near popular Marriott Hotel by Casa Port in Casablanca, has called on officials of Embassy of Nigeria in Rabat; Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and its supervising body, National Sports Commission (NSC) to get serious with the Super Falcons WAFCON 2024 campaign by providing enough match tickets for Nigerians living in Morocco to come out in their numbers to drum, sing and cheer the team to victory over South Africa on Tuesday.

 “The time to support Super Falcons to reclaim the WAFCON title is now, and one of the obstacles to achieving this goal is South Africa. I believe that if the large number of Nigerians in Morocco, especially those living in Casablanca, and neighbouring cities of Mohammédia, Rabat, Marrakch, Fez, Kenitra, Mekmes, and Tangier, are ready to throng Larbi Zaouli Stadium in for this important match”, Nwabuzor insists.

Also, Dandy Osawaru, a creative artist, actor, and founder of Odage Audition Studio in Casablanca, has stated that many Nigerians who live in Morocco are willing to storm the stadium on Tuesday to lend their support to nine-time African champions, Super Falcons to defeat South Africa.

Osawaru, who paid for his match tickets for all four previous matches played in Casablanca by Nigeria in the ongoing competition, argued that if the Nigerian authorities provide match tickets for the teeming supporters for next Tuesday’s crucial semi-finals clash, Super Falcons will get enough supporters to cheer them to victory against the Banyana Banyana.

In the same vein, Abraham Gadeka, head of Sports Section of Nigerian Community in Morocco, has challenged the Nigerian government through the Embassy in Rabat and country’s sports authorities to ensure that they procure enough match tickets for Nigerians living in Morocco who have been coming to the match venue since the tournament started to cheer the Super Falcons.

Others who have been paying their way to Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca to cheer Nigeria’s senior women’s football team are Dennis Nwachukwu Ihebia, a Casablanca-based transporter; Chineyere Faith Nzegbunam and Elizabeth Shuaibu, who have their own businesses in Casablanca, said the stadium will be jam-packed if the large number of Nigerians in Morocco are provided with match tickets by the Nigerian sports authorities.

According to them, many Nigerians in Casablanca have been coming out to support the Nigerian team, pointing out that over two or three thousand Nigerians living in the cities across Morocco are eager to storm the stadium on Tuesday to support their national if they are provided with match tickets.

Prompt News reports that Super Falcons have been without the usual  drumming, singing, and gyration associated with the ubiquitous NFSC led by Dr. Rafiu Ladipo and the large army of its splinter groups.

Meanwhile, Ghana Black Queens have been enjoying the massive support of members of the United Ghana Football Supporters Club (UGFSC) draped in their usual uniform of Red-Yellow-Green with black star emblazoned in the shirts.
