WAFCON 2024: Morocco-based Nigerian player, Ginika pays visit to Super Falcons Mohammedia camp

For the love of father land, Morocco-based Nigerian player, Ginika Ikeh has paid a solidarity visit to her colleagues in their training camp in Mohammedia to pledge her support for their quest to win the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for a record 10th time in Morocco.

Ginika, who currently plays her club football with Moroccan top division Itihad Femine FC, Tanger women’s football side, arrived Super Falcons’ Novotel Mohamedia before the 24-roster squad left the hotel for training had very brief chats with old team and clubs’ mates as well as with the head coach Justin Madugu.

The former FC Robo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Sunshine Queens, Confluence Queens, and Bayelsa Queens attacking midfielder used the opportunity to give words of encouraging and shared football tips as it concerned Morocco with her compatriots.

Among the  Super Falcons’ players who welcomed her warmly in camp are six-time CAF Player of the Year (Women) Asisat Oshoala, captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Portugal-Spain-based Christy Ucheibe, Francisca Ordega, defender Oluwatosin Demehin, and Mexico-based striker Chinwendu Ihezuo.

Meanwhile, Ginika, who has also played for two Moroccan clubs, Club Solidarite Sportif Temara and Renaissance Club Athletic Zamamra, since arrived the North African country in 2023 from Berry Ladies FC, Accra, Ghana, has expressed said that with the bond she saw in camp between the players and the coaching crew led by Justine Madugu, the Super Falcons will achieve their set goal of winning the 13th WAFCON holding in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.
